1.0 General
============================================================

Thank you for purchasing Natara DayNotez for Outlook. We
hope you find this application a useful extension to your
handheld device.

Please email your questions, comments, and bug reports to
support@natara.com. Before reporting problems, please
review the known bug list below, and at our web site
http://www.natara.com/daynotez/OutlookInfo.cfm Be sure to
download the latest version.

See the revision history below for known bugs, and features
to be added before release.

To find the DayNotez entries in Outlook, look in the
Natara/DayNotez folder, created by the configuration program.

DayNotez installs in a 30 day evaluation mode. The
full product feature set is available for your use. After
30 days the conduit will no longer synchronize DayNotez
until a product registration code is entered.

If you already have a desktop registration code, (one that
begins with 057...) then enter it when prompted by the
install wizard or use the Configuration program Options menu
to enter the registration code.

2.0 Quick Start Steps
============================================================

The following steps will get you up and running with DayNotez.

1) Open the downloaded Zip file and extract all the files
into a temporary directory. Run the setup program from
that location. Or, if you have downloaded the
self-extracting Zip file, run that executable and follow
   the instructions.

If you currently have an older version of DayNotez for
Outlook installed, you should install over it, using the
   Repair option.

2) At the completion of the install script an option is
provided to install the application on your Palm OS device.
Select that option. If you have multiple Palm Users defined
on your desktop, a selection list will be displayed. Pick
the user where you want to install DayNotez. Click the
Done button when the Install Tool dialog is displayed.

3) The Configuration program for the Outlook conduit will run
at the end of install, it can also be run at a later time by
using the start menu item found on "Start->Programs->
   Natara Software->Configure DayNotez for Outlook".

4) Perform a HotSync. The DayNotez application is now installed
on the handheld and ready for use.

5) After making entries on the Palm, synchronize again.

If a DayNotez entry is not in the HotSync log. Then shutdown
and restart HotSync Manager. Sometimes the installation script
is not successful in doing that. After restarting HotSync
Manager, go look at the list of conduits in HotSync Manager,
DayNotez should be in the list.

6) Look for the DayNotez entries in the Natara/DayNotez folder
in Outlook. If you use the Outlook Shortcut Bar and not the
Folder List, then add the DayNotez folder to one of the
   Shortcut lists.

5.0 Revision History
============================================================

Changes for version 1.0.4 build 1:
  Conduit:
Added support for the contact field.
Corrected bug that would lose modifications made on the
      Palm device.

Changes for version 1.0.3 build 1:
  Conduit:
Fixed the NT error caused by the M505 timeout fix.

Added code to work around the Office XP empty body bug.
Outlook 2002, (Office XP) can get in a state where the
message portion of a note must be written twice by
DayNotez to make it show up in Outlook. This fix only
works if the Outlook MailFormat setting is HTML or RTF,
it does not work for "Plain Text" mode.

  Outlook:
Fixed the AutoEdit mode control, it would be enabled
even when the control setting was off.

Changes for version 1.0.2 build 2:
  Conduit:
    Fixed the M505 timeout.

Fixed a bug where an edited field in an existing note on
another machine is not synced to the second PC.

Fixed a bug that would cause an item deleted on two PC
    machines to be restored.

Exchanged the DayNotez menu item for a toolbar item.

    Removed the IE6preview restriction.

Added support for the Office XP version of Outlook.

  Configuration:
Added an Option dialog to enable/disable the DayNotez
Outlook toolbar and Auto Edit mode.

  Palm:
Includes DayNotez version 1.6.1 Palm OS application.

Changes for version 1.0.1 build 1:
  Outlook:
A DayNotez menu item has been added to the Outlook menu bar.
It has a New Note subitem for creating a new entry in DayNotez
even when the DayNotez folder is not current.

The DayNotez form is now automatically put in edit mode when
    viewing existing notes.

Outlook 2000 is not always assigning the Subject field
properly, but enhancements to the DayNotez Add-In and the
    conduit should compensate.

  Conduit:
The Conduit will fill in the Subject field of entries that
    failed their initial assignment.

  Palm:
Includes DayNotez version 1.5.1 Palm OS application.

Known issues and missing features:

These are things that we know are broken or still
are not completed. Please don't bother to report
    these as issues:

The DayNotez menu item on the Outlook command bar gets
duplicated for Outlook 2000 and there is an error on
shutdown. This only happens for the Outlook 2000 original
release and is fixed in Outlook 2000 SR-1.

Switching between DayNotez Desktop and DayNotez for Outlook:
Although the two products do not interfere with other,
only one of these conduits can be active at a time.

Note: The registration number is good for either.

Warning: When switching between the two products "Archived"
notes will not be moved. Make sure everything you want to
move is on the Palm before switching.

Problems with Outlook 2000 service release 1, (SR-1):
There are known problems with OL2000 SR1. The Configuration
program tests for the failure and displays a warning.
If the conduit is run with this problem, notes in Outlook
will not go to the Palm, and there will be a HotSync log entry.
However notes on the Palm will still be copied to Outlook.
This is due to an incomplete update to SR-1.
